CRIMINAL SOLICITOR – DARWIN
We currently have a vacancy in our busy Darwin criminal team and are seeking an experienced and talented criminal lawyer.
The successful applicant will be a lawyer with at least 2 years post-admission experience in criminal law and proven experience in court advocacy. The successful applicant will appear in the local Magistrates Court, surrounding bush courts and the Supreme Court and have a case mix that reflects their experience.
Most lawyers with the agency travel once a month to remote communities throughout the Top End of the Northern Territory to attend bush courts. Those within the Darwin region include Tiwi Islands, Wadeye, Daly River, Maningrida, Jabiru, Borroloola and Oenpelli.
It is essential that applicants have a demonstrated empathy and sensitivity to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, history and culture.
