CLIENT SERVICES OFFICER (CSO)
NAAJA currently has a vacancy for a Client Services Officer within the Criminal Section of our Katherine Office. CSOs play a vital role in ensuring that NAAJA provides a culturally appropriate legal service. CSOs act as the initial contact between clients and the service and provide essential paralegal and logistical support as part of our legal teams.
The position requires a motivated person who has an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and excellent cross-cultural communication skills. They will be well-organised and enjoy working in a busy team. An understanding of the criminal legal system is an advantage, but training will be provided for the successful applicant.
Regular travel to remote communities by light aircraft and/or road will be required and will include overnight stays.
It is essential that applicants have a demonstrated empathy and sensitivity to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, history and culture.
