About the role

As the Senior Finance Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations and reporting of our dynamic organisation. You will assist the Senior Accountant to manage and deliver the finance function with motivation and a commitment to professional excellence.

What you’ll be doing

  • Undertaking bank reconciliations
  • Providing general accounting support and guidance
  • Completing month end general ledger reconciliations
  • Compiling and completing grant applications and assisting the Financial Accountant/Senior Accountant in preparing acquittals with internal stakeholders
  • Asset register maintenance
  • Assisting with audit preparation and required documentation
  • Assisting with accounts payable/accounts receivable
  • Reconciling credit card and petty cash
  • Preparing ad-hoc and regular reports as required

What we’re looking for

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
  • Previous experience in a similar finance role, preferably within the not-for-profit or public sector
  • Expertise in financial management, accounting, and budgeting principles and procedures
  • Proficient in the use of financial software and spreadsheet applications
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality financial outcomes
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and a strong attention to detail

Requirements

  • Right to work in Australia with no restrictions.
  • Satisfactory national criminal history check.
  • Ability to obtain a working with children clearance (Ochre Card).
